I can't believe your engagement session is almost here!

I'm really looking forward to seeing you both and spending some time together before the wedding. One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is that they give us a chance to get to know each other without the excitement (and timeline!) of the wedding day.

By the end of our session, you'll know exactly what it feels like to be photographed, and I promise you'll walk away feeling much more relaxed and confident for your wedding day.

A Few Tips to Help You Prepare

Wear something that feels like you.
The best outfits are the ones you feel comfortable and confident wearing. Neutral colors and timeless clothing tend to photograph beautifully, and I recommend avoiding large logos or busy patterns that can be distracting.

Coordinate—don't match.
Choose outfits that complement each other instead of wearing identical colors. Think about colors and textures that work well together while still reflecting your personalities. I always tell people, still at a loss grab something off a mannequin from Banana Republic.

Be comfortable.
We'll likely do a fair amount of walking depending on our location, so comfortable shoes are always a good idea. You can absolutely bring a second pair to change into once we arrive.

Don't stress about posing.
This is probably the biggest concern I hear, and I want to put your mind at ease.

You don't need to know how to pose.

You don't need to practice in the mirror.

You don't need to worry about looking awkward.

My job is to guide you naturally throughout the session. I'll give you simple prompts and direction while also leaving plenty of room for genuine moments to unfold.

Most couples tell me within the first ten minutes,

"That was way easier than we expected."

Bring Yourselves

More than anything, I want this session to feel like the two of you spending time together.

Laugh.

Talk.

Hold hands.

Tell stories.

Don't worry about the camera.
